The dramatic search for a missing woman came to a happy conclusion last night when she was found three days after she went missing. 41 year old Lisa Faulkner was reported missing on the 30th January 2020.

35 volunteers of the Community Rescue Service along with police were tasked to the Cavehill area with the guidance of Police air support yesterday evening.

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this morning Regional Commander Sean Mc Carry said “After what was a prolonged search covering 3 days across Belfast by both CRS and Police, a heat signature was located by Police Air Support in a remote area of Cave Hill.

A joint Police and CRS specialist team were tasked to the location where it was found to be the missing person who was injured and required hospital treatment.”

The Coastguard Helicopter from Prestwick was requested through the Coastguard Coordination Centre at Bangor. A difficult recovery was carried out with their assistance and the person taken to safety.

I would take this opportunity to thank all those involved including our CRS teams, the police and the Coastguard as it was this multi-agency response that ensured the safety of everyone involved. Whilst this incident was ongoing CRS and police were attending to another high risk missing person.

We all wish a speedy recovery to the injured person.”

The operation lasted about four hours in windy conditions.

The Coastguard Helicopter from Prestwick was tasked twice to Northern Ireland yesterday following the rescue of a male in Cunshendall who was transferred to Royal Victoria Hospital.
